Our mission is to provide access to comprehensive mental health resources and culturally sensitive counseling services tailored to the needs of mothers while providing a safe space for healing, empowerment, and personal growth.
Our vision is to create a future in which all mothers feel validated, supported, empowered, and have access to mental health resources that are inclusive of their individual experiences.
Established in 2018 as a non profit organization recognized by the IRS as a 501c3, Mzazi Bear has been at the forefront of advocating for maternal health and well-being, supporting mothers on their unique journeys through pregnancy, childbirth, and early motherhood. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by mothers, we set out to create a nurturing space where their physical and emotional needs are recognized, valued, and met.
Driven by a passionate team of volunteers, we have dedicated ourselves to improving the overall maternal health for women with children. From the very beginning, our mission has been to empower mothers with knowledge, resources, access and support, enabling them to make informed decisions and be the best version of themselves.
Through the years, we have offered innovative programs, activities, events , workshops and trainings aimed at promoting mental well-being.
We take pride in our holistic approach, addressing the mind, body, and spirit to foster comprehensive healing.
Mzazi Bear is fortunate to have a dedicated team of passionate volunteers who provide essential mental health services to mothers in need. These individuals hold a deep commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of mothers facing mental health challenges. With their compassionate hearts and empathetic approach, our volunteers create a safe and nurturing environment where mothers can openly share their struggles, fears, and triumphs.
Comprised of mental health professionals, doulas, therapists, fitness instructors, counselors, and individuals with lived experience, our volunteer team offers invaluable expertise, guidance, and support to help mothers navigate the ups and downs of motherhood. Their remarkable qualities, such as patience, empathy, and non-judgment, empower mothers to explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and discover inner strength. Going above and beyond, our volunteers generously offer additional support, follow-ups, and ongoing encouragement. Their dedication fosters resilience and instills a sense of worth in every mother they encounter. With gratitude, we acknowledge the profound difference our volunteers make in the lives of mothers and their families, as we work together to uplift, empower, and support mothers on their mental health journey.
